Pending Collective’s large-scale fanzine:

After meeting Captain Sensible and Rat Scabies of The Damned in the Market Square in May 1977, Simon Smalley decided to create a fanzine inspired by the meeting. This experience ignited a passion in Smalley for creating fanzines. In response to Smalley’s love of zines, Backlit’s Pending Collective created an oversized fanzine, inspired by punk's unapologetically creative nature. The fanzine “Ahhhhhhh!” draws on a variety of themes significant to the collective - from music and tattoos to government policies and current protests, including personal responses displayed through quotes from interviews and thoughts from Smalley’s interview with Backlit. “Ahhhhhhh!” was creatively supported by Backlit studio artist Leomi Sadler.
